Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her initial performances on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over 100 years. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role of Essie. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
